Ilkka-Pekka Similä is Ambassador of Finland to Vietnam since 2015. He has also served as an Ambassador in Abu Dhabi and held various positions in the Permanent Mission of Finland in Geneva and the Embassies in Cairo and Vienna.
He will start as Director General of the Department for External Economic Relations in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs from 1 September 2017. In the Ministry, he has worked as Director in the Department for External Economic Relations and held position in the Political Department and the Department for International Development Cooperation. Similä joined the Foreign Ministry in 1989.
Dr. Pekka Mattila is a specialist in strategic management and agility, strategy co-creation, business model innovation, executive leadership, top team dynamics, change management, organizational culture and strategic marketing. He works frequently with both European and Asian executive audiences, and is a much-requested speaker at corporate and other events around the world.
He holds a D.Sc in sociology from the University of Helsinki and an Executive MBA from the London Business School. He also serves as a Professor of Practice at the Aalto University School of Business.
Dr. Nguyen is the named inventor and co-inventor of over 60 patents in the US, Canada, EU, and other countries. He has also authored and co-authored over 55 publications in various peer reviewed scientific journals. He was the recipient of the NSERC (Canada) and FCAR (Quebec) scholarships. Among the awards presented to Dr. Nguyen Thanh My are the Influential Business Person of the Year from the President of Vietnam, Nguyen Minh Triet and VCCI, the Technological Advancement Silver Award from Dainippon Ink & Chemicals Inc. (Japan), the Invention Achievement Award from Sun Chemicals (USA), and several Certificates of Merit from Vietnam’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Dr. Nguyen received his Ph.D. in Energy and Materials from L’Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) – Énergie, Matériaux et Télécommunications, and his Master of Science in Heterogeneous Catalysis and Bachelor of Science in Analytical Chemistry from Concordia University.
Dr. Riina Viitala
Executive Director of Aalto EE, Asia-PacificDr. Riina Viitala is an experienced international leader in the field of executive education and FMCG industry for over 15 years. Years of practical experience from director positions and implementation of development programs has given her a broad perspective on change management and renewal in organizations. She is passionate about continuous learning and renewal as well as helping individuals to develop strong self-leadership skills. Her academic interest focuses in combining her background in health and biosciences on the research on leadership, emotional intelligence and neuroscience for developing leadership skills and building executive resilience and wellbeing.
She holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Helsinki and has studied also in Cornell University ILR School, Darden School of Business and University of California, Berkeley.
